It all comes down to how bad to want a Thanksgiving turkey to be able to pay that price for 1 meal.
The same is true for many western foods.

No expensive turkey for me!
Imagine what you could buy with the US $200 for that one turkey?
Now here in rural Isaan we can buy a whole live turkey for 200 thb or US $6.00
They will butcher and clean for you and you can cook it the way you want.
There are always work arounds to expensive things here in Isaan.
